3 Day Introduction to Protein Expression Workshop

This course is designed as an introduction to recombinant protein expression and will focus primarily on expression in E. coli. The course is taught using a combination of lectures and laboratory exercises. Lectures will include an overview of recombinant protein technology using bacterial, animal cell and Baculovirus expression systems, recombinant protein system considerations, prokaryotic vectors and expression in E. coli. The laboratory component of this workshop will provide significant hands-on training in the various aspects of recombinant protein expression, from transformation of E. coli to protein expression and harvesting to purification and analysis. A full workshop review will also be included on the final day of the course.

Cost: $1,300.00
The cost of tuition includes lecture and laboratory learning, and a complete manual of course material. Students will be responsible for their own transportation and lodging and lunch each day. There are many lunch options available nearby the Institute.

Location
The BioTechnical Institute of Maryland, Inc is conveniently located at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland.  There are many hotels and accommodations available within walking distance to the Institute.

Transportation
- Baltimore Washington International Airport is located approximately 20 miles from Baltimore. Shuttle service to the Inner Harbor is available.
- Ronald Reagan National Airport and Dulles Airports are less than 2 hours away.
- Train transportation is convenient to downtown Baltimore.

Cancellation
In the even of a workshop cancellation, BTI will refund only the workshop registration fees. BTI is not responsible for other expenses incurred due to a BTI workshop cancellation.
