BTI was created to fill the growing need for qualified and specially trained lab technicians in Maryland's rapidly expanding biotechnology industry. The Institute also provides a community need:
fostering the development of a local, highly trained and motivated workforce. By preparing post-high school graduates to fill entry-level positions in biotechnology, our programs benefit the employers, the local community and our graduates. BTI can save your company time and resources in the recruitment and training of lab personnel. BTI is also a source for customized training programs to upgrade and validate skills of your existing employees. Please proceed through our web site for more information on our programs and to learn more about customizing our training for your specific lab environment and needs.
BTI is supported in part by the Abell Foundation, a grant by the Workforce and Economic Development Program of the Open Society Institute-Baltimore and by MdBio, Inc. BTI gratefully acknowledges the generous support of these and other members of the bioscience community and state and local agencies.
